Coronado is seeking a Vice President Sales and Marketing to join its senior leadership team in Brisbane and lead the company’s global sales and marketing function.
About the role
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer and working closely with members of the executive team, the Vice President Sales and Marketing is a critical member of the senior leadership team, responsible for leading Coronado’s global sales, logistics, technical marketing, and marketing finance functions.
This role is accountable for driving commercial performance, developing and executing market strategies aligned to production and product mix objectives, securing international contracts, and optimising revenue across both contracted and spot sales.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead the Sales, Logistics, and Marketing Finance team to deliver integrated and effective global sales and marketing strategies
- Manage contracted sales volumes to align with annual production targets while ensuring strong customer performance and delivery outcomes
- Identify, negotiate, and execute spot sales opportunities to maximise revenue and commercial returns
- Maintain and enhance the market positioning and competitive value of Coronado’s product portfolio
- Develop and implement strategies for entry into and growth within emerging markets, including new customer acquisition and credit risk management
- Monitor global market trends and provide timely commercial insights and recommendations to the Executive Team
- Ensure all customer contracts are compliant, auditable, and accurately maintained in line with internal and external requirements
- Build and sustain strong customer relationships and represent Coronado in external forums, publications, and industry engagements
- Collaborate closely with Operations, Technical Services, Finance, and other functions to ensure alignment with broader business objectives
About you
You are a senior commercial leader with deep industry knowledge and a proven track record of delivering strong commercial outcomes in complex, global environments. You bring a strategic mindset, strong leadership capability, and the ability to make high value decisions under pressure.
You will ideally have
- Significant experience leading complex, global sales and marketing functions within the coal industry or a closely related bulk commodities environment
- Deep understanding of coal markets, product characteristics, and coal geology
- Working knowledge of metallurgical coal value in use
- Strong commercial judgement and sound decision making in high value, time critical environments
- Highly developed stakeholder management and relationship building capability
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline
