CORONADO GLOBAL RESOURCES is a leading international producer of high-quality Metallurgical Coal. Our global operations are located in two of the world's largest and most productive metallurgical coal basins, the Bowen Basin in Queensland and the Central Appalachian region of the US.
Based in our Brisbane Corporate Office, you’ll take the lead on our Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) Internal Controls Over Financial Reporting program, coordinate our internal audit program in line with IIA global standards, and get involved in broader risk management activities like insurance and group risk reviews.
This is a role where you’ll work independently, think on your feet, and collaborate with senior stakeholders across Finance, Legal, HR, Operations, and Sales & Marketing. You’ll also manage the day to day engagement with our co-sourced internal audit provider and work closely with external auditors to ensure the highest standards of delivery.
This is a hands-on role with high visibility across the business, offering the opportunity to work closely with senior leaders, external auditors, and our co-sourced internal audit providers to ensure excellence in delivery and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage Coronado’s SOX internal controls program, including scoping, control design assessments, and coordination of testing.
- Oversee the Group’s internal audit program, ensuring alignment with IIA standards.
- Manage relationships with co-sourced internal audit providers to ensure quality and value.
- Collaborate with external auditors.
- Support group-wide risk reviews, insurance processes, and Audit, Governance & Risk Committee reporting.
- Monitor and manage relevant budgets, forecasts, and contractor management activities.
- Build strong, influential relationships across Finance, Legal, HR, Operations, and Sales & Marketing functions.
About You:
- Degree in Accounting, Commerce, or related discipline.
- CA, CPA, or Certified Internal Auditor qualifications (preferred).
- Extensive experience in internal / external audit, with SOX exposure highly regarded.
- Proven stakeholder engagement and contractor management skills.
- Demonstrated experience managing budgets.
- Knowledge of S4 HANA and Success Factors (advantageous).
