About the Role

 

Located in our Brisbane Corporate office, this position reports directly to the Manager Accounting and is responsible for managing and enhancing the daily operations of the Accounts Payable function. The role ensures accurate, timely, policy-compliant payments, drives process efficiency, strengthens team capability, and supports the achievement of the organisation’s broader objectives.

 

Your role will be rewarding and varied, where you will:

 

  • Lead and support the Accounts Payable Team – Oversee, mentor, and develop AP staff, ensuring capability, compliance, accurate processing, timely reviews, and a collaborative, high-performance culture.
  • Enhance Financial Processes – Contribute to cash flow reporting, support Treasury, and streamline end-to-end AP functions including invoice processing, GR/IR management, payment runs, automation systems, and month-end close.
  • Ensure Supplier Relations and Accuracy – Resolve escalated vendor issues, maintain accurate supplier data, ensure all payments meet policy, contractual and regulatory requirements, and verify payment runs for smooth transactions.
  • Generate and Manage Key Reports – Prepare and analyse AP insights including ORNI, Trade Creditors, Aged Invoices, cash flow reporting, invoice status reports, and Payment Times Reporting, coordinating with Supply, site teams, and Finance.
  • Maintain Compliance and Controls – Uphold internal policies, maintain AP procedures, support SOX and US GAAP compliance, enforce documentation accuracy, and ensure audit readiness through strong controls and reporting discipline.
  • Commit to Continuous Improvement – Lead and support process improvements, enhance automation tools, strengthen data visibility, develop KPIs, and drive initiatives that improve efficiency, accuracy, and service quality.

 

Key to your success will be your:

 

  • Extensive experience in an Accounts Payable role
  • AP supervisory or leadership experience
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Solid understanding of accounting, financial, and banking principles
  • Proficiency in SAP S4/HANA, invoice automation/scanning systems, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
