Curragh Mine, located just 12 kilometres from Blackwater in Queensland’s Bowen Basin, is one of the largest open-cut coal mines in the region.
What You’ll Do
Reporting to the Operational Technology Superintendent, we have an opportunity for a Specialist OT Operations Technician to join our team. This is a hands-on role focused on maintaining and supporting the hardware and field systems that underpin site-wide operational technology. You’ll be responsible for preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and day-to-day technical support across a range of OT systems.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing technical support and resolving priority issues across OT systems
- Maintaining and upgrading field hardware to ensure reliability and minimise obsolescence risk
- Supporting digital radio, fleet management, CCTV, network infrastructure, and site communication systems (MotoTRBO, Rajant, Cambium, Avigilon, Extreme Networks)
- Identifying faults, contributing to root cause analysis, and improving system reliability
- Managing and executing small-scale upgrades and changes
- Maintaining accurate records within work management systems (e.g. SAP)
- Working closely with end users and stakeholders to support operational requirements
- Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives across OT systems
What You’ll Bring:
- Trade qualification in Auto Electrical, Communications, Electronics, Electrical/Instrumentation, or relevant experience
- Experience working with OT systems such as fleet management, communications networks, CCTV, or site infrastructure
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritise and work in a fast-paced environment
- Good communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Experience with systems such as SAP or similar work management tools (desirable)
- Experience with mining communication systems (e.g. digital radio, LTE, wireless networks)
