Role Overview
Reporting to the Technical Service Superintendent, this is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Mine Surveyor to join the Curragh North team. Lead a small team of surveyors, delivering high-quality survey services that support mining operations and statutory compliance. This role is on a 5/2 roster with company-funded flights from Brisbane.
What You’ll Do:
- Conduct mine surveys, including stakeouts, pit and dump scans, post-blast surveys, and geotechnical monitoring.
- Process and deliver accurate survey data using Drone, GPS, and Scanner technology.
- Produce daily, weekly, and monthly reports on coal stockpiles, inventory, and mine volumes.
- Maintain survey documentation, registers, and equipment compliance, including drones.
- Lead, mentor, and support the survey team to ensure high standards and efficient workflow.
- Collaborate across departments to meet operational goals and drive continuous improvement.
What You’ll Bring
- Tertiary qualification in Surveying or Spatial Science, with Mining-O endorsement (or progressing).
- RePL (Casa Multi Roto UAV) is essential
- Experience in open-cut coal mining and strong surveying knowledge.
- Advanced skills in Vulcan, Point Studio, Agisoft, MS Office; exposure to SAP and EOM calculations is a plus.
- Strong communication, attention to detail, and commitment to safety and compliance.
