The Role
Coronado is seeking a Risk & Compliance Specialist to join the team at the Curragh Complex. This role will play a key part in supporting governance, risk management, and compliance frameworks across the operation, ensuring systems, processes, and controls align with legislative requirements and internal standards.
Working closely with operational and functional teams, the position will assist in strengthening risk management practices, improving compliance processes, and supporting the ongoing development and maintenance of site management systems.
What You’ll Do:
- Support the development, review, and continuous improvement of site risk and compliance frameworks.
- Facilitate risk assessments and reviews to identify operational risks and ensure appropriate controls are implemented and maintained.
- Monitor compliance with legislative requirements, company standards, and site management systems.
- Assist in maintaining registers, records, and documentation relating to risk, compliance, and governance processes.
- Prepare reports on compliance performance, audit findings, and risk management outcomes.
- Coordinate internal reviews and support external audits where required.
- Work with operational leaders to promote a strong risk and compliance culture across the site.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Experience within the mining industry or another heavy industrial environment.
- Exposure to risk management, compliance systems, governance processes, or audit activities.
- Knowledge of statutory regulations relevant to mining operations in Queensland would be highly regarded.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organisational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage across multiple teams.
- Ability to manage documentation, reporting, and compliance processes with attention to detail.
