About the Role
Reporting to the, Dragline Rom Supervisor the ROM Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the Run of Mine (ROM) pad and associated mining equipment.
You will play a key role in managing truck movements, directing dumping activities, maintaining safe stockpile management, and ensuring consistent coal flow in line with the mine plan.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate equipment on the ROM including loaders or ancillary gear (as required)
- Coordinate and direct truck tipping activities safely and efficiently
- Maintain safe stockpile management and ROM pad housekeeping
- Monitor coal quality and report any variances
- Conduct pre-starts, inspections, and basic fault reporting
- Work closely with Mining Supervisors and dispatch to meet production targets
What You’ll Bring
- Previous open-cut mining experience (ROM or production environment preferred)
- Strong safety focus and situational awareness
