Curragh Mine is one of the largest open-cut coal mines in Queensland's Bowen Basin and located only 12 kilometres from the local township of Blackwater.

What You’ll Do
Reporting to the Mining Services Superintendent, you’ll be responsible for the safe and consistent management of Dragline, Dozer, and ROM operations. This includes ensuring equipment availability and meeting production targets, while working closely with planning and operational teams to deliver short- and mid-term goals in line with SHMS, site standards, and the Coal Mining Safety and Health Act and Regulations. This role operates on an 8/6 dayshift roster designed to support a healthy work-life balance.
Your role will include:
- Leading Dragline and Dozer operations, guiding contractors, and monitoring performance
- Maintaining a safe and compliant work environment in line with SHMS and safety procedures
- Overseeing the review and accuracy of SOPs, JSAs, and risk assessments
- Collaborating with other departments to meet safety, environmental, and production targets
- Supporting short-term scheduling, tracking work in CMMS, and contributing to compliance reviews
- Fostering a positive, accountable team culture with open communication and continuous improvement
What You’ll Bring
- Extensive experience in open-cut coal mining, with a focus on dragline operations and production efficiency
- Strong knowledge of QLD Coal Mining Legislation, compliance, and incident investigation
- Proven leadership in team management, contractor oversight, and stakeholder engagement
- Solid understanding of dragline operations, maintenance planning, and risk management
- A proactive, results-driven approach with strong communication and relationship skills
- Commitment to problem-solving, continuous improvement, and team success
