Mechanical Tradesperson

Curragh is a large-scale open-cut operation supported by CHPP (Coal Handling and Preparation Plants) and major mining equipment including draglines, electric shovels and haul trucks. The CHPP includes conveyors, crushers, screens and pumps that run continuously to process coal safely and efficiently, supported by strong maintenance teams keeping production moving.

What You’ll Do

We’ve got a permanent opportunity for an experienced CHPP Mechanical Tradesperson at Curragh Mine. Reporting to the CHPP Maintenance Supervisor, you’ll be working hands-on across the plant, maintaining fixed plant and conveyor systems to keep operations running safely and reliably. This role works a lifestyle roster.

In this role you’ll be:

• Fault finding and repairing mechanical issues across CHPP or fixed plant equipment
• Responding to breakdowns and getting equipment back up and running with minimal downtime
• Carrying out planned maintenance, inspections and shutdown work
• Working safely and following site procedures and standards
• Picking up recurring issues and helping improve plant reliability

What You’ll Bring

• Experience working in CHPP or fixed plant maintenance environments
• Mechanical trade qualification
• Strong experience with conveyors, pumps, gearboxes and rotating equipment
• Good fault-finding and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work under pressure in breakdown situations
• A practical, team-focused approach and solid safety mindset
