Reporting to the Manager CHPP, you will lead the operational maintenance function across the Coal Handling and Preparation Plant (CHPP), ensuring maintenance activities are safely executed while supporting the delivery of production targets.


This is a hands on leadership role where you'll work closely with the Operations team to optimise plant reliability, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and develop a high performing maintenance team.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop the CHPP maintenance team, fostering a strong safety and performance culture.
  • Ensure maintenance activities are planned and executed safely and efficiently.
  • Drive plant reliability, equipment availability and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Coordinate closely with the Operations team to deliver weekly maintenance plans and shutdown schedules.
  • Manage maintenance performance against agreed KPIs, budgets and schedules.
  • Maintain compliance with site standards, statutory requirements and the Safety and Health Management System (SHMS).
  • Provide accurate reporting on maintenance, safety and operational performance.
  • Develop rolling maintenance plans that maximise plant performance and minimise downtime.
  • Build strong working relationships across site to support safe and efficient production outcomes.
  • Coach, mentor and develop supervisors and team members to build capability and succession within the business.


About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • Extensive experience leading fixed plant maintenance teams within coal processing, mineral processing or heavy industrial operations.
  • Experience leading multidiscipline trade teams
  • Strong leadership capability with the ability to motivate, coach and develop teams.
  • A sound understanding of maintenance planning, shutdown execution and asset reliability.
  • Strong commercial awareness with experience managing budgets and maintenance performance.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • A proactive approach to problem solving and continuous improvement.
  • A commitment to creating a safe, accountable and high performing workplace.
