CORONADO GLOBAL RESOURCES is one of the world’s biggest producers of high-quality metallurgical coal. Our global operations are located in two of the largest and most productive metallurgical coal basins in the world, the Bowen Basin in Queensland, Australia and the Central Appalachian region of the US, servicing customers throughout the Asia-Pacific, Americas and European regions.

Curragh Mine, near Blackwater, is one of the largest open-cut coal mines in the Queensland Bowen Basin.  Curragh has played a significant role in our region for nearly 40 years as an employer, a business partner and a major part of the Blackwater community. 

What You’ll Do

Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, you will be responsible for the delivery and execution of HR projects and for partnering with leaders to provide coaching and advice on all people-related matters to ensure effective leadership and development of their teams to achieve business objectives.

Your role will be interesting and varied and will include:

  • Developing professional relationships with leaders by providing accurate and timely advice to influence the delivery of performance-based business outcomes
  • Understanding current and future workforce requirements by assisting the business areas with planning, budgeting and analysis to support leaders in the development of business case recommendations and associated approval processes
  • Providing strategic communication and change management support to leaders when implementing change or driving HR improvement initiatives and projects
  • Supporting effective governance and compliance by contributing to the development, review, communication and implementation of HR policies and practices
  • Assisting leaders to effectively case manage HR-related issues including performance, grievance, workplace investigations and absence management in line with relevant policies and legislation
  • Coaching and supporting leaders to identify skills gaps or talent and establish development plan and retention/recognition strategies for their teams 

What You’ll Bring

 

  • You will have worked as a true business partner and are comfortable building and maintaining strong partnerships to drive business results
  • You will have strong business acumen, knowledge of employment relations and relevant legislative obligations and a clear, comprehensive understanding of the link between people and business strategy outcomes
  • Self-motivation, drive and resilience are essential and you will be highly-skilled in influencing, negotiating, gaining credibility and building relationships 
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or extensive industry experience
