Electrical Tradesperson

Join our team as an Electrical Tradesperson working on large-scale CHPP operations in a dynamic mining environment

At Coronado Global Resources our Curragh complex is a large-scale open-cut operation supported by CHPP (Coal Handling and Preparation Plants) and major mining equipment including draglines, electric shovels and haul trucks. The CHPP includes conveyors, crushers, screens and pumps that run continuously to process coal safely and efficiently, supported by strong maintenance teams keeping production moving.

What You’ll Do

We’ve got a permanent opportunity for a CHPP Electrical Tradesperson at Curragh Mine in Blackwater.

This is a hands-on role where you’ll be carrying out day-to-day maintenance, fault finding, breakdowns and shutdown work to keep plant and equipment running safely and reliably. This role works a lifestyle roster.

In this role you’ll be:

• Fault finding and troubleshooting electrical issues
• Responding to breakdowns and getting equipment back up and running safely and efficiently
• Carrying out preventative maintenance and shutdown work
• Working safely and following site procedures and standards
• Identifying recurring issues and contributing to improving equipment reliability

What You’ll Bring

• Experience working in CHPP or fixed plant environment
• Electrical trade qualification
• Current QLD Electrical Licence
• Experience with HV switching
• Knowledge of PLCs and SCADA systems (advantageous but not essential)
• Strong fault-finding capabilities and the ability to work through problems under pressure
• A solid safety mindset and team-focused attitude
