CORONADO GLOBAL RESOURCES is a leading international producer of high quality Metallurgical Coal. Our global operations are located in two of the world's largest and most productive metallurgical coal basins, the Bowen Basin in Queensland and the Central Appalachian region of the US.
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineering Manager (EEM) to provide statutory oversight and technical leadership across the Curragh operation. Reporting to the Manager Engineering, this role is responsible for ensuring electrical engineering compliance, governance and system integrity across plant, infrastructure and mining operations.
This is a critical leadership role responsible for overseeing electrical engineering standards, maintaining electrical system stability across the operation and ensuring compliance with statutory obligations and site engineering frameworks.
You will work closely with operational leaders, maintenance teams and technical specialists to ensure electrical engineering systems and processes support safe, efficient and reliable mining operations.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide statutory leadership as Electrical Engineering Manager for the operation
• Maintain and govern the Electrical Engineering Control Plan
• Lead electrical engineering governance & ensure compliance with legislative & company standards
• Oversee electrical reticulation systems and ensure system stability across the operation
• Lead the identification, design and auditing of electrical risk controls
• Provide technical guidance and direction to electrical personnel across the operation
• Support engineering projects including equipment introduction, commissioning and upgrades
• Investigate electrical incidents, failures and system issues and implement corrective actions
• Manage electrical engineering budgets including operational and capital expenditure recommendations
• Coordinate and audit external electrical contractors and their management plans
• Support development and training of electrical personnel including HV training governance
About You
You are an experienced electrical engineering leader with strong technical capability and a practical operational mindset. You are comfortable working in a complex mining environment and providing leadership that ensures electrical systems operate safely, reliably and in compliance with statutory obligations.
You will bring:
- Electrical Trade or Electrical Engineering qualification suitable for appointment as EEM under the Coal Mining Safety and Health legislation
- Demonstrated capability to hold statutory appointment as EEM
- G1, G8 and G9 competencies & Hazardous Area qualifications
- Extensive experience working with open cut mining electrical equipment and reticulation including high voltage systems
- Experience with ERP systems such as SAP and incident investigation methodologies such as ICAM
- Strong leadership capability with the ability to influence and guide technical and operational teams
