About the Role

 

Join Coronado Global Resources at our Curragh operation in this opportunity within our Operational Technology team, supporting site-wide control systems and instrumentation.

 

Reporting to the Superintendent Operational Technology, this role is responsible for maintaining, improving, and supporting control and instrumentation systems across site, ensuring reliability, compliance, and continuous improvement of operational technology.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Provide hands-on support across site instrumentation and control systems to ensure reliable day-to-day operations and minimise downtime
  • Work with PLC and SCADA systems, including programming, troubleshooting, and resolving faults using site data and diagnostic tools
  • Identify, investigate, and resolve control system issues quickly to restore equipment and process performance
  • Develop and maintain practical standards for control system design, procurement, and implementation across site
  • Manage software changes in a controlled way, ensuring updates are safe, compliant, and don’t introduce operational risk
  • Plan and support system upgrades and improvements, including assisting with smaller projects and contributing technical input to larger projects through commissioning, handover, and ongoing OT/network performance reviews

 

About You:

 

  • Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or Trade Qualification in Instrumentation
  • Experience with PLC and SCADA system development and maintenance
  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving capability within control systems
  • Exposure to industrial networks and system integration
  • Ability to work collaboratively with operations, maintenance, and project teams
